Danielle I.

What is your running experience?

I ran for a few years a long time ago. I stopped, I am not sure why but I think it had something to do with work and school. I started running again about 3 years ago. I’ve been broken for a few months but I keep trying to get back out on the trail. I can usually be found running with my pug Eliza, if you see us feel free to say Hi!

How long have you been with Trottin’ Oxen?

I joined Trottin’ Oxen about 3 years ago. (May-ish 2018)

What experience will you bring to the Trottin’ Oxen Leadership Board?

Over the past three years I have built relationships throughout the club by hosting events such as the Breast Foot Forward 5k, Don’t Push Ivory 5/10K, Co-hosting the Back to the Future Run, to name a few. Most recently I helped with on the Exploratory Committee for this very election. I have loved being able to share my creative ideas with the club and constantly question how I am so lucky to have a great group that will take part in these ideas. I have also helped fill in as leader in Jenn’s absence.

I have built a relationship with the Old Ox staff and family not only as a customer but also serving as a brand ambassador for the past 2 years. In my non-running life, I have served on several boards in roles ranging from Secretary to Chairperson. I currently work for the government preserving documents for my agency, but in the past I work as a major gift fundraiser for a major museum.

I hope to be the Chair of the club to continue the welcoming environment for all runners that has been cultivated by Jenn for the past 6 years. My ideas run wild (pun intended) from creating a new website, an e-newsletter (I really want to call it Oxen Tales,) to researching ways to have the club become an official non-profit.

My gregarious personality may not be what you think of when it comes to leadership, but I hope to translate my sparky personality, into a flame that will light the future of the run club.
